The State of Texas filed a Petition for Condemnation with the Judge of the County Court at Law of Harrison County, Texas, on the 6th day of October, 2026, in Cause No. 2026-11982-CCL, which is styled The State of Texas v. Unknown Heirs of Barney Washington, Sr., et al. This suit is an eminent domain proceeding in which the State of Texas is condemning a tract of land located in Harrison County, Texas, containing a 8.195 acre (356,976 Sq. Ft.) parcel of land located in the Isaac N. Fields Survey, abstract 260, in Harrison County, Texas, being a portion of a called 13-2/3 acre tract of land described as tract one, in the decree confirming partition in Cause No. 20,704, in the District Court of Harrison County, Texas, 71st Judicial District, awarded to Johnnie B. Washington and her children, dated December 16, 1961, and recorded in volume 11, page 221 of The Civil Minutes of said district court, such property being fully described in Exhibit “A” of Plaintiff’s Petition for Condemnation filed under the above-referenced cause number. The Plaintiff is the State of Texas. The name and address of the attorney for Plaintiff is Andrew Hamre, Assistant Attorney General, P.O. Box 12548, Austin, Texas 78711-2548. Washington Eubanks, deceased; Unknown Heirs of Willie Pink Washington, deceased; Unknown Heirs of Barney Washington, Jr., deceased; Unknown Heirs of Rachel Lee Washington Robertson, deceased; Unknown Heirs of John Washington, deceased and, if any of them are deceased, their respective heirs and legal representatives, if any. The interests of these unknown or unlocated Defendants are that they either own or may claim an interest in said property subject to the condemnation and may be entitled to a portion of the proceeds thereof, subject to unpaid accrued taxes.
